One of My Favorite Quotes...

“The Master in the art of living makes little distinction between his work and his play, his labor and his leisure, his mind and his body, his education and his recreation, his love and his religion. He hardly knows which is which. He simply pursues his vision of excellence in whatever he does, leaving others to decide whether he is working or playing. To him he is always doing both.”

S.D. Chargers 2009-2010 Playoff Tickets

Look what arrived in the mail box today… San Diego Chargers 2009-2010 Playoff Tickets!!!

San Diego Chargers 2009-2010 Playoff Tickets

San Diego Chargers 2009-2010 Playoff Tickets

You can imagine the surprise look on my face when I received them. It totally caught me off guard and wasn’t expecting them anytime soon. And that’s especially right before Christmas day. So, this was a welcome Christmas gift…

San Diego Chargers 2009-2010 Playoff Tickets

They arrived in a USPS Priority Mail envelope. And like some people with gifts, I couldn’t wait until Christmas morning to open them. I opened the envelope immediately and tweeted the news. With the news, I had to take a couple flicks to show them off as well as let my other Bolt brothers and sisters know what’s up. And let me tell you, that feeling in the air is feeling really good if you know what I mean.

San Diego Chargers 2009-2010 Playoff Tickets

The images right above are for 2009-2010 Chargers NFL Playoffs Games 11 and 12. The Playoff ticket with Game 12 is for the AFC Championship in case some other team takes out the Colts during the playoffs. They’re not as fancy and glamorous as past Playoff tickets, but good looking nevertheless. It sure beats picking up the generic tickets that they just print out at the stadium like last season…

Well, hope you enjoy the photos. I enjoy design as much as football. When I’m able to share the passions I have to the world along with photography, it gives me great pleasure. I sure everyone enjoys the rest of their holidays and have a great Christmas. Spend it with you loved ones, I know I am…

Framed SD Chargers Anniversary Posters

I bought a couple of frames for the San Diego Chargers 50th Anniversary Poster Series. And finally decided to insert them into the frames and take a couple flicks. And I must say they look great! The Chargers poster series is a set of four that consist to four teams that we’ve played against this year…

I love these posters. They’re great humor and art that you don’t often find in sports posters. I don’t particularly like posters of athletes, so these fit the bill. Love the bold colors and more importantly, love the SAN DIEGO CHARGERS!!! These posters are going to look great on the walls in the house…

The San Diego Chargers created a poster series of four posters for the Denver Broncos, Oakland Raiders, Philadelphia Eagles, and the Kansas City Chiefs home games. They just happen to just release their newest poster of a series of four to the public today. And the latest design happens to be versus the Kansas City Chiefs…

San Diego Chargers 50th Anniversary Poster Series of Four

Each of these limited edition posters were released the Saturday before each home game and can be found exclusively at the Chargers Team Store at Qualcomm Stadium and come in at 22”x28”.

First Poster: Denver Broncos vs. San Diego Chargers on Monday, October 19, 2009.

Second Poster: Oakland Raiders vs. San Diego Chargers on Sunday, November 1, 2009.

At the time of this post, I have the first three and am looking to purchase the Kansas City Chiefs poster to complete the poster series at the game, as we continue to hold onto first place in the AFC West Division.

Actual photos of the Chargers 50th Anniversary Poster Series will be taken soon. And that’s as soon as I complete the set and insert them into frames... so, stay tuned for those photos.

GO SAN DIEGO CHARGERS!!!

Manny Pacquiao Makes History with Miguel Cotto TKO!

What a win! Pacquiao adds to his legacy! Very fitting as Manny Pacquiao comes out and enters the event hall packed full of Filipino fans as well as Puerto Rican fans at the MGM to one of my all time favorites, “Eye of the Tiger”. Very much like the fictional character, Rocky, who’s loved by the mass as the people’s champion. And the fact that he’s always sporting a smile seems to be an obvious trademark that many have grown to love.

Manny Pacquiao Makes History with Miguel Cotto TKO! AP Photo/Mark J. Terrill

Now that the man has won his seventh belt in seven divisions, what is next? Well, as stated, he has a concert to do right after the fight with his band from the Philippines. CRAZY! As it should be, “Work Hard, Play Hard”. Vacation with his family and friends is also in the mix.

But what many others want to know, such as myself, what about Floyd Mayweather? We’ll see… As much as I want to see this, I personally don’t see it as Mayweather seems to cherry picks his opponents and uses money/contract disputes as excuses.

Again, Manny Pacquiao TKO Miguel Cotto in the 12th round as the ref steps in to stop the fight. Pacquiao wins by TKO!

In the meantime, I’m waiting for that next fight of the century. Manny Pacquiao vs. Floyd Mayweather!

Today: Pacquiao vs. Cotto

Pacquiao vs. Cotto – November 14, 2009

Today’s the day! When Manny Pacquiao takes on Miguel Cotto to face off for the World Welterweight Championship on November 14, 2009! My pick, Pacquiao by late knock-out around the 9 round mark or it may go the distant by unanimous decision. Either way, Manny Pacquiao will win…

Mom’s Home Cooked Filipino Spaghetti

Went digging through my photo archives and came across a photo I took of my mom’s home cooked Filipino style spaghetti.

 Mom’s Home Cooked Filipino Spaghetti!

Filipino spaghetti you say?!? That’s right, not your typical Italian spaghetti, but a much sweeter version of it with hotdogs. I know you must be thinking that sliced hotdogs in your spaghetti is crazy, but you got to try it before you knock it. Because just about everyone that’s given it a shot, love them.

One of a few major differences between the two is the sweetness, as mentioned above. And that’s because of the added ingredient of the Jufran Banana Sauce that can be found at any Filipino or Asian marketplace. Even though the use of Jufran is a critical component to the dish, my mom’s recipe doesn’t include it. She substitutes it with sugar instead…

 Mom’s Home Cooked Filipino Spaghetti!

Then there is the hotdog. It’s another major difference between the two. My household uses regular plain hotdogs that you find at any marketplace/grocery store. But, I’ve seen other types of sausages being used in other people’s recipes…

I know it’s not a true representation of the Filipino spaghetti. I like to call it a hybrid of sorts. It’s a compromise of the traditional Italian version and the Filipino version.

Happy eating!!!

Some cool Epson promo goodies…

I’m a big fan of Epson and their products. I’m also a big fan of their promo marketing goodies. They send these brochures on some of their products and if you’d like more info on them, you fill out a card. The cool thing is, they sometimes send out some of these promo goodies along with extra information that you wanted. It’s nice to see companies like Epson willing to send out promo items to promote their products. Now, only if other companies out there willing to go that extra step too…

Just recently, I received a package from Epson and one of their promo goodies…

Epson Promo Goodie!

The promo item they sent me was a black t-shirt with text that says “Extreme: Epson UltraChrome HDR Ink Technology” on the left chest. It also has the Epson logo on the back as well. Unfortunately, it came in large and I won’t be able to wear it. Too many beers. But fortunately, I was able to give it to someone that’ll be able to sport it out in public.

Epson Promo Goodie!

Maybe about a couple days ago, or is it a couple weeks ago? Anyways, I also received another promo item from them that I’m sure that I’ll put to use…

Epson Promo Goodie!

Epson Promo Goodie!

It’s a Snap Blade Utility Knife. The arts and crafts part of me loves this thing and have put it to use as soon as I had my hands on it. This utility knife that Epson sent me came along with a free printed sample from the Epson Stylus Pro GS6000 as well as complete product information.

Epson Promo Goodie!

The next item was sent to me some time ago. I don’t even remember when it was. But I felt the need to share and promote Epson because I think it’s just badass to send your customers and potential customers some of these goodies to promote their products.

Epson Promo Goodie!

Epson Promo Goodie!

It’s another Epson branded utility knife that’s meant for heavier use than the previous one I showed. This has to be my favorite of all the Epson goodies that they’ve had/sent. This probably gets the most use too. The item also has found a new home and for the better. As much as I’ve used it, he uses it a bit more and gets plenty of comments on this fine knife from its uses. And this is a good thing as I’m a firm believer that tools need to be used…

Epson Promo Goodie!

Well, I just wanted to share the goodies I received from Epson and will continue to share more photos as I get these in. I felt the need to reward a company when they do things like this to either please a customer or entice a potential customer about their services or products. Especially during these tough times…

Thumbs up goes to Epson! You won a fan, but then again, I’ve always been one…

Yummy Treats! Sharis Berries…

It was my dad’s birthday last weekend (Happy Birthday Dad!) and he received a package from cousin in New Jersey. She sent a package of these delicious chocolate covered strawberries by Sharis Berries, The Unforgettable Gift! And you know I had to try these…

 Sharis Berries, The Unforgettable Gift!

The graphic designer in me needed to get a picture of a close up of the logo too…

 Sharis Berries, The Unforgettable Gift!

As we opened it up and saw a dozen chocolate covered strawberries, my mouth started to water. And I mean water, like a faucet. As stated on my other posts, I’m a sucker for all things sweet. So I went straight for the white chocolate covered with coconut first, before anyone else. Some people don’t like coconut, but damn do I love them…

 Sharis Berries, The Unforgettable Gift!

Here are some close ups. I liked the white chocolate covered strawberries the best…

 Sharis Berries, The Unforgettable Gift!

 Sharis Berries, The Unforgettable Gift!

With all the sweets I tend to eat, I’m just glad I’m not a diabetic. It would truly suck to not be able to enjoy a couple of these delectable snacks in one sitting. But eating more than that can be a bit too sweet. Even for me…

My Wing Stop chicken lunch…

Man do I love eating chicken wings! My all time favorite place to get my chicken wing fix is the great Royal Mandarin located in National City, here in San Diego. And all you San Diegan Filipino folks out there know what I’m talking too! It’s not a Filipino party/gathering if it doesn’t have Salt and Pepper Chicken Wings! Right?!? Yummy!!! But the Wing Stop chicken wings are pretty good too...

Wing Stop Lemon Pepper Chicken Dinner…

I’m not sure what made us decide to eat these instead of our usual favorite, but all I know is that if we order from them, I have to get the Lemon Pepper wings! I really don’t do well with spice. I also don’t know what it is with salt and pepper seasonings, just so damn good…

Wing Stop Lemon Pepper Chicken Dinner…

We also ordered a side of Fresh Cut Seasoned Fries and Bourbon Baked Beans (not pictured). The baked beans were pretty good. It really did have that deep flavor. To tell you the truth, I wasn’t expecting much out of it and it surprised me in a good way. I’m also not much of a fries kind of guy, but everyone else pretty much killed the whole thing. I guess they liked it…

Wing Stop Lemon Pepper Chicken Dinner…

I on the other hand basically stuck with the Lemon Pepper wings and I’m fine with that cause it not only got me stuffed, but also put a big smile on my face with burps breaking the smile every once and awhile from being full…

Wing Stop Lemon Pepper Chicken Dinner…

As much as they were good and tasty, there’s something that always bugged me about Wing Stop chicken wings. And it’s the size of the wings. They have to be one of the smallest chicken wings I’ve had. I sure hope that changes…

Three Extraordinary Desserts to-go…

Three Extraordinary cakes to-go…

One of my favorite places to go to in San Diego for desserts is Karen Krasne Extraordinary Desserts. It’s a popular place to go to when you have a sweet tooth like I always do. But instead of enjoying the atmosphere that Extraordinary Desserts provides, we decided to have it to-go this time.

Three Extraordinary cakes to-go…

We ordered three cakes. It was neatly packed and arranged in a way that it wouldn’t get damaged during transport. The open space was stuffed with some type of tissue paper to secure the cakes. We also wanted to eat three kinds of cakes. You know, to have a variety to choose from. The first one…

1) Ivory Royale…
Three Extraordinary cakes to-go…

2) White Chocolate Cheesecake…
Three Extraordinary cakes to-go…

3) Dolce de Leche…
Three Extraordinary cakes to-go…

I’m not a dessert connoisseur, not even close and only know good or bad. And damn was this good! The desserts were rich and dense and you really couldn’t ask for more. In fact, we couldn’t even finish the three delicious cakes we ordered as you can see.

Three Extraordinary cakes to-go…

One slice of cake is plenty for one person. The cakes that we couldn’t finish were for two other people besides me. The best thing about cakes is that you can put them back in the frig and bring them out when you’re ready to eat them again. And boy did we get back to them and finished them in no time.

Mobee Cashew Tarts from the Philippines

Mobee Cashew Tarts from the Philippines…I love these things!!! So damn good!!! It’s like M&M’s and chips, you can’t just have one! And I’ve been known to kill a whole box myself in one day. But I’m not the only one, I’ve seen others do the same. It’s way too easy to put these tasty treats down…

Mobee Cashew Tarts from the Philippines

I have lots of family members going to and from the Philippines. And once and awhile I receive my own package from another relative. I don’t normally ask for anything but for some reason they always send me these delicious cashew tarts. And I’m a sucker for all things sweet… I think I have my mom to thank for letting them know how much I love these things. So, thanks mom!

Mobee Cashew Tarts from the Philippines

See, I told you… I almost killed the whole box. If you saw what happened a few minutes after, I made the tarts disappear like a Las Vegas magician. I’m just that good…

Mobee Cashew Tarts from the Philippines

What makes the cashew tarts so great is that they aren’t too sweet, but sweet enough. And the crunch you get when biting down on the crust. Love that crust too! Now I just have to wait until someone else sends me these yummy snacks…

First preseason Charger game 2009…

I know I’m a bit late on this… this past Saturday, August 15, 2009 was the first game this season. Although this game was only a preseason game, the excitement was still there. The game was pretty much uneventful for the most part, but it actually became a great game that came down to the wire. Unfortunately we lost, but no biggie, it’s just preseason…

First 2009 preseason Charger game this season…

I dug out my Charger lanyards with these clear NFL pouches to help protect my tickets since I collect them. It was real painful to detach these tickets from the rest of them. It looked great just having them all together as one. It was frame worthy…

First 2009 preseason Charger game this season…

We’re in Charger country here! Home sweet home! It feels great to be back at the Murph, errrrrrr, I mean the Q. Sorry old habits are hard to break. The sight and feel of going into the stadium feels great despite it only being preseason.

First 2009 preseason Charger game this season…

Love looking at that large Charger flag as it waves with a slight breeze going through mission valley every time we enter the stadium lot. It was the perfect weather for football and for tailgating, which other people will agree with me from the looks of it.

First 2009 preseason Charger game this season…

We get these Tailgate times every time we enter the lot for some light reading to kill time and before the game starts. I didn’t do much reading since I love to people watch. And boy was there some watching to do. Lots of eye candy. I wish I remembered to take some pics, but I was caught up in the moment. I’m sure you’d understand. Maybe next time…

First 2009 preseason Charger game this season…

The above photo is a picture of the view I have from my seats. It’s right on the 45 yard line on the opponent’s side. Love my seats!!! If you love to get into to it with opposing fans and heckle with them, this is the area to be. Fortunately, longtime/mature seasoned Charger fans surround my section but I as well as others have a great view of the field level chaos below…

First 2009 preseason Charger game this season…

The Chargers are hosting their 21st annual Salute to the Military. Just like the Padres, the Chargers are proud supporters of the military. It’s nice to see this since my dad served in the navy for 20 years as well as my many uncles. It only makes sense since it is San Diego after all. The above photo was during the national anthem. They brought out a huge American flag with members of our armed forces carrying the flag and waving it during the song. It looked awesome…

Something I noticed… they didn’t have the canons go off on the field!?! What the hell was that about? I love it when those canons go off during the National Anthem. It’s something that’s pretty unique to the San Diego Chargers. Bring it back!!! It’s a trip to see new fans flinch every time the canons go off. I love it!

Now I can’t wait for the next home game even though it’s still preseason. It’s against the San Francisco 49ers on Friday September 4, 2009 at 7pm. The wait continues…
