One of My Favorite Quotes...

“The Master in the art of living makes little distinction between his work and his play, his labor and his leisure, his mind and his body, his education and his recreation, his love and his religion. He hardly knows which is which. He simply pursues his vision of excellence in whatever he does, leaving others to decide whether he is working or playing. To him he is always doing both.”

Do Whatever it Takes… “Nothing is Original”

"Nothing is original. Steal from anywhere that resonates with inspiration or fuels your imagination. Devour old films, new films, music, books, paintings, photographs, poems, dreams, random conversations, architecture, bridges, street signs, trees, clouds, bodies of water, light and shadows. Select only things to steal from that speak directly to your soul. If you do this, your work (and theft) will be authentic. Authenticity is invaluable; originality is non-existent. And don’t bother concealing your thievery - celebrate it if you feel like it. In any case, always remember what Jean-Luc Godard said: “It’s not where you take things from - it’s where you take them to." - Jim Jarmusch

Some may agree and others will disagree, but it’s a great quote that I think about once and awhile! Sometimes you got to do whatever it takes. You take from here and you take from there and somehow turn them into a valuable asset to get things going. And that’s how life goes for the most part…

2009 San Diego Chargers Season Tickets: 50th Anniversary Season!

2009 San Diego Chargers Season Tickets, 50th Anniversary Season!

Well, the Chargers did a great job at designing this year’s season tickets. The crazy part is the photos don’t do it justice. I think it may have to do with the many details that the design entails. It’s almost like currency. The detail really gets lost when it’s not the original. I don’t know if that’s their intention, but it may be their way of combating counterfeits. But whatever, onto the pictures…

They added some stuff this year besides the usual papers like the Welcome Letter, Fan Guide, Transportation Guide, Season Ticket Guide, and Ads…

This year, since it’s the 50th Anniversary Season for the San Diego Chargers, they included a pretty cool looking circular pin inside a plastic case. On the pin it states “Season Ticket Member” around another statement that states “San Diego Chargers, 50th Anniversary Season”. Outside of the case says “In Appreciation of Your Support”.

In addition to the pin, they also included a blue marker that states “Celebrate 50 Years of Chargers Football”. At first I was like “why the hell are they giving us a marker?”. But after going through the whole package, I think I found the reason. And that reason is to write in that Season Booklet they gave, in your “My Gameday Moment” section and to black out the lights in the scoreboard to reveal the final score. Pretty cool! It really seems that they put some thought into this whole thing.

The next set of photos is the booklet and plastic pouch that they included. There you’ll find two pages of info on our opponent that gameday and what the Final Score is. Note, that’s where you use the marker that they included and black out the lights to reveal the score. But, the next two is the plastic pouch with booklet inside with the views from the front and back.

As you can see, they have an area where you can your favorite memory for that game with the included marker. Good idea! On the other side of this page, they have the Player that’s on the ticket and his information there. They also have a cool section on what they call “On This Day”.

That same side where you have the Final Score, they have these slots cut into the pages where you insert your detached tickets into them. I really like this idea! But the tickets on one full sheet looks cool enough to be framed and hung. Now I’m torn and just don’t know…

LaRue Tactical Goodies Came In!

I purchased a couple items from LaRue Tactical and they just came in yesterday. I’ve purchased from them before and knew what to expect. Even knowing so, the extra stuff they threw in put a great smile to my already great looking face. But they do have that reputation of adding extra goodies…

LaRue Tactical Goodies Came In!

I purchased the Troy Industries Folding Site and the LaRue Tactical LT104-30mm SPR M4 Mount. Everything else you see in the photo above are just extra stuff they threw in. Let’s see, they threw in a LaRue Tactical black adjustable cap, which won’t fit my big dome, but cool nonetheless. Two bumper stickers and one say’s “God Bless Our Troops, Especially Our Snipers”. That made me smile since just about all my uncles have served the military. I also received a “Dillo” Beverage Entry Tool as well as Dillo Dust Dry Rub for those times I have BBQ parties during the summer in sunny San Diego. Pretty cool!

Let me tell you something. They’ve gained a customer for life, unless they royally screw me over or their reputation by doing something really stupid. And let this be a lesson to all you other store owners/vendors, whether it be firearms accessories, electronics, apparel, jewelry, treat your customers well and give back a little. They’ll continue to come back every time. At least this customer will! And that’s because they know how to keep this customer!

Stay safe and happy shooting!

Operation Cool Down @ Ghirardelli in Gaslamp District, San Diego

It was hot in San Diego yesterday (Sunday) and I mean it was hot with a touch of humidity! I just couldn’t take it much longer and made it my mission to find a nice way to cool down. But we really didn’t know what we wanted to do. All we knew was that we wanted something cold and a place to sit and people watch.

As we were driving, we decided ice cream is what we wanted. Off topic, driving is great thing to do if all you wanted to do is think or gather your thoughts. We decided to head towards downtown San Diego for great people watching, especially tourists. So, on to Ghirardelli for some sweets…

Operation Cool Down @ Ghirardelli in Gaslamp

We got to downtown and there was a good amount of people out and about, mainly tourists. Given the fact that it was a beautiful day and hot I was expecting that. If you’re the kind of person that likes to people watch like me, Gaslamp in San Diego is the perfect place to accomplish that.

We finally got to Ghirardelli. It really didn’t take long at all. But when your mind and body wants to cool down with the thought of ice cream in my mind, you just want to get there and fast. Parking is always an issue at the Gaslamp too. We got real lucky and found a parking spot around the block. And thank god for it being Sunday too, since parking meters are not in effect.

I can’t stress this enough! Gaslamp in San Diego is a great place to sit down and people watch! I love it! We grabbed a sweet spot in front of Ghirardelli (picture above) to enjoy our ice cream.

Operation Cool Down @ Ghirardelli in Gaslamp

As you can see, the mission has been accomplished! What a great way to treat yourself during a Sunday afternoon. The funny thing is, I think we were in line longer to put in our order than it was to eat them. It was too good! Delicious!!!

Quantum Cabo CNW30PTS Conventional Trolling Fishing Reel

My buddy (Hoheezee) just picked up a new fishing reel to add to his arsenal. It’s a Quantum Cabo CNW30PTS Conventional Fishing Reel. I love fishing as much as the next guy, but he takes it another level I do not dare cross. It’s crazy what a hobby can do to a person. The crazy part is I’m a man of many hobbies. So, I feel this man’s passion…

Here are some photos of the Quantum Cabo CNW30PTS Conventional Fishing Reel at different angles.

What I first noticed when I opened the Quantum Cabo CNW30PTS Conventional Reel box was the neoprene reel bag/cover. I saw somewhere that states all Quantum PT Saltwater Reels include the carrying case. That’s nice to know since I’ve had to buy them separately in the past for my other reels. I’d like to see more companies do this and don’t see why they don’t to be honest. I like to protect my reels from the elements while in storage or in transport…
