One of My Favorite Quotes...

“The Master in the art of living makes little distinction between his work and his play, his labor and his leisure, his mind and his body, his education and his recreation, his love and his religion. He hardly knows which is which. He simply pursues his vision of excellence in whatever he does, leaving others to decide whether he is working or playing. To him he is always doing both.”

Dinner: Hanaoka Japanese Restaurant

Here's some photos of dinner I had with the family sometime last week. For dinner, some sushi from Hanaoka Japanese Restaurant in National City. Wanting a light meal and not too heavy, it seemed like the perfect thing. Until my brother and I also ordered a dinner combo they had for each of us. I thought I would still be hungry after the sushi and figured why not...

We got three different sushi special rolls. The first one is a Caterpillar Roll, which is crab and eel topped avocado with sweet sauce. The second is a Baked Scallop Roll that's crab and avocado topped with scallop and baked. And last but not least, the Sunset Roll. The Sunset Roll is crab and avocado topped with tuna and avocado. Not much to say about their sushi rolls, other than I'm a fan and will always come back for more...

My brother and I, both got the combination dinner. More specifically, the Beef Teriyaki & Chicken Teriyaki. besides the chicken and beef, the combo is served with soup, rice, salad and California Roll (2 pieces). Thinking the sushi rolls weren't enough, we ordered the combo. I've never ordered the combo dinner and my thinking was that it was just a regular small plate. Boy was I wrong. It was more than enough for me and frankly, my brother and I could've shared one instead...

The above images are some close-ups of the beef teriyaki and chicken teriyaki. I really enjoyed the meal and so did my bro. I wasn't expecting much, but it really did surprise me in not just the amount, but in the taste. It kind of sucks that I've never had them before because they were that good. Now that I had the opportunity to try it out, I'll be ordering this whenever I come back to Hanaoka.
