One of My Favorite Quotes...

“The Master in the art of living makes little distinction between his work and his play, his labor and his leisure, his mind and his body, his education and his recreation, his love and his religion. He hardly knows which is which. He simply pursues his vision of excellence in whatever he does, leaving others to decide whether he is working or playing. To him he is always doing both.”

Inova X1 LED Flashlight

Just like knives, I have a number of flashlights at my disposal. The Inova X1 LED (light emitting diode) flashlight that I have is one that I keep in the camera bag. It's small, light and uses AA batteries that are conveniently found at many stores. It's definitely not my brightest light, but it's plenty bright to use while digging through the backpack when the job calls for it. So, here are some pics of it.

The Inova X1 is not that large. It's about four inches and about the thickness of a marker. The flashlight design is very simple as well. It also has a lanyard, but I have no use for it as my hands have a hard time getting through them. If it wasn't for the lanyard, I can see the flashlight rolling away from me. It also has a momentary button located on the back of the light and with a twist, you can have the light constantly on or off. More pics here...

Here's a Amazon product review... "The X1 from Inova delivers the X Series uncompromising lighting performance, reliability and durability in a sleek design that's just 4 inches long by 0.72 inches in diameter, so it fits easily in pockets, briefcases, toolboxes and anywhere else.

This advanced, pocket-sized light projects a uniform circular beam up to 100 feet--and offers up to 1.5 mile signal visibility. Power regulating circuitry provides maximum, uniform light output brightness for up to 2 hours.

The crush-proof, water-resistant X1 is designed, engineered and manufactured to provide reliable operation in extreme environments. Activating the X1 sets into motion a finely engineered sequence of events, which culminate in a perfect circle of peak brilliance. Switch-to-piston pressure joins the supplied AA alkaline battery to an intelligent power regulator that steps up battery voltage for constant, maximized light emission up to 10 hours.

With its 65-foot effective range, 1.5 mile signal visibility, and operational range of -40 degrees to +50 degrees C, the X1 is a true power player for its class, size, and price." More pics here...

Here's a product description from Amazon... "Projects a constraint, non dimming, optically pure light up to 65'. Sleek barrel shape 3.9" long by .72" diameter. Patent pending three mode switch cap enables easy, one handed control for momentary and constant on/off light with no chance of accidental activation in transport. The cap's .156" diameter opening permits use of a parachute cord lanyard. Uses AA alkaline batteries. Maximized light emission up to 2 hours. A patent pending light chamber directs diode generated light to an anti reflective, double coated glass lens that concentrates this energy into a potent beam. One mile signal visibility and operational range of -40 to +50 C. Sealed, recessed lamp/lens assembly is encased in a stainless steel head. All critical mating surfaces are held to .0005" tolerance. Aircraft aluminum hardcoat anodized body. Waterproof construction." More pics here...
