Had some late breakfast at the Broken Yolk Cafe in the Gaslamp District in downtown San Diego and that means I'm about to have my grub on with their generous servings. I've never been to this location and was actually surprised to see a good amount of people as we entered considering it was a weekday. The photo below doesn't really show it, but there was. It's also much bigger than I expected from just judging it from the outside. I also liked how it was spacious and that large fan in the middle of room is pretty cool.
Since it was such a nice day, they had the windows up where we were sitting. And the photo below shows the view we had of the patio and the building across the street. Not much of a view, but I liked it and there wasn't that much street noise that would be considered annoying.
Let's get back on topic. And the whole reason why we went to Broken Yolk Cafe would be the food. Since they serve breakfast, I'm a sucker for eggs. I love them! I'll eat them at any hour of the day. They're SO GOOD! I got the John Wayne Omelet which is prepared with four eggs with your choice of two sides. Knowing the omelet is going to be pretty big, I picked fresh fruits and toast. The John Wayne omelet is mushroom, onion, American cheese, chili and more cheese. Man, did I enjoy it! I loved every bite of it and I was stuffed. Yum!
The next photo is the Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad Wrap meal as well as a cross-cut shot of it. I took a bite of this and thought it was ok. It tasted like any other chicken wrap out there. The fries tasted good though.
Another meal that we got was the French Dip under the American Favorites section of the menu. The French Dip is basically sliced beef stacked on a French roll and served with Au Jus dipping sauce (not pictured). I didn't get a chance to taste this, but it's a good sign when the plate has been cleared. I also have a photo of the cross-cut too.
I really enjoyed my meal and have no complaints what-so-ever. The service was great as well. So, I'll definitely be back for more. This time, I may try out the other locations since there are five of them. Pacific Beach, Eastlake, La Costa, Gaslamp/East Village and San Marcos.

One of My Favorite Quotes...
“The Master in the art of living makes little distinction between his work and his play, his labor and his leisure, his mind and his body, his education and his recreation, his love and his religion. He hardly knows which is which. He simply pursues his vision of excellence in whatever he does, leaving others to decide whether he is working or playing. To him he is always doing both.”
