One of My Favorite Quotes...

“The Master in the art of living makes little distinction between his work and his play, his labor and his leisure, his mind and his body, his education and his recreation, his love and his religion. He hardly knows which is which. He simply pursues his vision of excellence in whatever he does, leaving others to decide whether he is working or playing. To him he is always doing both.”

Seafood @ TJ Oyster Bar in Bonita | SD

During Lent, I've been avoiding eating meat on Fridays, which is pretty tough for me. But the good thing is, I have no problems eating seafood and it gives me a chance to try out new dishes that I normally wouldn't order. And that brings me to TJ Oyster Bar in Bonita and their awesome 99 cent everyday fish tacos that they are known for. I've posted about them before and I want to post something different than just fish tacos since they have other great delicious offerings on their menu.

Burrito Meal at TJ Oyster Bar in Bonita - San Diego

I normally get the regular fish tacos for under a buck and this is the first time I ordered one of TJ Oyster Bar's burritos. Keep in mind that these burritos were ordered two separate occasions. The above photo shows what the burrito meals look like. It comes with a small serving of salad that I thought was meh. It wasn't memorable at all and wasn't enough to be honest. I've had more greenery on a burger than what was offered. But that's ok; the burrito is what's important. It also came with rice too.

The next sets of photos are some cross-cuts of the burritos. The first one is the Marlin Burrito. The marlin burrito is pretty heavy. And I don't mean physically, but in a fulfilling sort of way. The sizes of their burritos are smaller than your regular California Burritos at other taco shops. Despite being smaller, I feel just as full when finished as those. Crazy! It's so good, but I can tell you that it's not for everyone. So, try the taco version first but with cheese.

And then you got the Seafood Burrito. I really love this one and it's cheaper than the marlin and shrimp burrito! It's filled with so so many goodness! It's basically filled with everything seafood-wise that they offer packed into the burrito. So flavorful and fresh and so awesome on how they not skimp on the seafood itself. I almost thought that they would just put some kind of filler to the burrito. Nope, not at TJ Oyster Bar! Good for them and that's the reason why I'm a repeat customer and will continue to be...

Don't want to go with the burrito and want something more manageable? Well, don't worry they have the Seafood Taco. It's a dollar more than the regular fish taco, but damn is it worth it! As you can see in the photo, they put a lot into the taco and it's more fulfilling than the regular one. You can't go wrong with this one. All I can say is that it's delicious.

Just to throw it into the mix, I added a photo of their popular 99 cent everyday Fish Taco. It's like having Taco Tuesday everyday. It's one of the best fish tacos in San Diego if not the best. It's that good. Enough said. Trust me! But give it a shot for yourself and let me know what you think.
